Wizard of the Limitless Fortress: The Genesis Dragon Stream

The battlefield was choked with the acrid stench of ozone and scorched earth. Above, the sky bled a bruised, unnatural purple, torn apart by the absolute chaos of the Dragon Stream.
Genji, the Lightning Emperor, dropped to one knee. Cracks of golden electricity still flickered weakly across his armor, but his breathing was ragged. He looked across the scarred terrain at his allies—Beast Master Shido, Gene Starwind, Tatsuma Hiyuu, and Ban Mido. They were alive, but only just.
"Icky of Kagerasmaru really is the leader of the Genesis Syndicate now..." Shido muttered, leaning heavily on his beast-commanding staff. He wiped a mixture of sweat and grime from his forehead, his eyes wide with a lingering shock. "I still can't believe it. Of all the people to inherit that mantle..."
"Believe it," Gene Starwind spat, leaning against the smoking barrel of his caster gun. He looked up at the sky, his jaw clenched. "The galaxy just got a hell of a lot more complicated. But right now, we have a bigger problem."
Gene turned his gaze toward a figure standing a few paces away—a legendary figure whose presence usually commanded the wind itself.
"You have said your wings have the power to carry our dreams to the heavens themselves," Gene said, his voice dropping its usual bravado, replaced by a raw, desperate sincerity. "You are Sky King. It’s absolutely meaningless to battle like this!"
The Sky King stood silent, his vast wings slightly tattered, casting a long shadow over the battered warriors.
Genji let out a harsh, self-deprecating laugh, the sparks around him flaring violently before dying out. "You're too soft, Lightning Emperor," Ban Mido growled, adjusting his grip on his own fading power, his dark eyes locked on the horizon. "If they revive and follow us, we'll be in more trouble than we can handle. We can't afford to hesitate."
"I know," Genji whispered, staring at his trembling hands. The golden lightning began to warp, turning a jagged, volatile crimson. "I have reached my limit. I am about to return to the old me... the true Lightning Emperor. The one who doesn't hold back. The one who destroys."
Tatsuma Hiyuu stepped forward, his fists glowing with the gentle yet powerful aura of his own spiritual energy. He placed a steadying hand on Genji’s shoulder, suppressing the rising destructive current.
"I'm sorry," Tatsuma said softly, his voice a calm anchor in the storm. "It was the most we could do to protect everyone. Look up."
They all looked.
There was all that light gathering. The heavens weren't just bleeding; they were singing. The Dragons of Heaven and Earth were calling out to one another in a deafening, invisible chorus, their ancient spirits swirling through the clouds. The sky was no longer just atmosphere—it had become a raging river of pure cosmic energy.
"They're activating the Dragon Stream," Shido whispered in horror as the ground beneath them began to levitate. "They've pushed it to an abnormal degree. If we don't move now, there won't be a heaven or an earth left for the Sky King to fly in."
With the Genesis Syndicate rising under a nightmare leader and the cosmic balance shattering above them, the five warriors stood ground, waiting for the Sky King's wings to catch the anomalous wind.
