Makubex: Child of the Limitless Fortress Movie — The Crimson Moon Dream War
The air in the ancient forest was thick with the scent of damp moss, pine, and an underlying ozone crackle. High above the canopy of towering cedars, the night sky was a deep violet canvas dusted with brilliant, hand-painted stars. Cutting a jagged path through the celestial view was a massive, glowing comet, its twin tails bleeding emerald and sapphire light across the heavens—a sight straight out of a cell-shaded 1990s theatrical feature.
Down in the clearing, the atmosphere was a tense mix of ancient mysticism and high-tech energy.
"Wow..." Sakura Avalon whispered, her wide, expressive eyes reflecting the comet’s vibrant glow. She clutched her Star Staff to her chest, her pink-trimmed cape fluttering in a sudden, mystical breeze. "It’s beautiful, Kero-chan... but it feels so heavy."
"That’s because it ain't just a shooting star, kid," Inuyasha grunted. He was leaning casually against a massive root, his hand resting on the hilt of the Tessaiga. His white dog-ears twitched. "The miasma coming off that thing is making my nose bleed. It smells like burnt iron and bad news."
"For once, the half-demon is correct," a cool, aristocratic voice echoed from the shadows.
Sesshomaru stepped into the faint moonlight, his long silver hair flowing like water, his gaze fixed entirely on the sky. He didn't spare the others a glance. "The comet tears at the boundaries of time and space. We are not the only ones drawn to its descent."
"Ah, Lord Sesshomaru, always a comfort," Miroku sighed, though his eyes were busy scanning the perimeter. He casually held his wind-tunnel-bound right hand close to his chest, though his staff tapped rhythmically against the ground. "But perhaps we should focus on our current company before the sky falls."
From the opposite side of the clearing, three figures stepped out of the fog, framing themselves like a rival faction from a classic OVA crossover.
Genji, the Lightning Emperor, stood with arms crossed, his spiked hair radiating faint static electricity. The golden trim of his armor shimmered under the starlight. "We didn't travel across dimensions just to stargaze, Feudal trash. That comet carries a core of pure elemental energy, and it belongs to the Empire."
"Easy, Genji," Ban Meadow warned, stepping forward. He adjusted his dark trench coat, his sharp eyes darting between Inuyasha and Sesshomaru, calculating their reflexes. He kept one hand buried in his pocket, fingers wrapped around his weapon. "We don't need a turf war. We just need to secure the anomaly before it vaporizes this entire province."
Beside them, Beast Master Shido crouched low, his fingers digging into the dirt. A low, feral growl vibrated in his throat, mirrored by the massive shadow-panther shifting in the darkness behind him. "The wilderness is screaming," Shido hissed, his eyes glowing a faint, predatory yellow. "The beasts of this forest are fleeing from them, or from it. We are running out of time."
"Hey! Who are you calling 'Feudal trash', sparky?!" Inuyasha bared his fangs, his hand instantly drawing Tessaiga. The blade transformed with a loud shwing, pulsing with a jagged yellow aura.
"Inuyasha, wait!" Sakura cried out, stepping between the two factions, her massive anime tears welling up but quickly replaced by fierce determination. "We shouldn't be fighting each other! The Clow Cards... no, something much bigger is distorting the sky! Look!"
As if on cue, the emerald tail of the comet flared, sending a shockwave of energy rippling through the atmosphere. The wind howled, whipping everyone's hair and clothes in dramatic, high-contrast shadows. The trees groaned, and a flock of glowing, spectral birds burst from the canopy.
"The seal is breaking," Miroku warned, his voice dropping its usual playful edge as he took a defensive stance.
Genji grinned, a dangerous, arrogant smirk. Electricity arced violently across his shoulders, illuminating the forest in harsh, strobing flashes of blue and white. "Fine by me. Let's see if your swords can cut through lightning!"
"Try me, lightning bug!" Inuyasha roared, leaping into the air, the dramatic moon framing his silhouette.
"Idiots, the lot of you," Sesshomaru murmured, his whip of light crackling to life from his fingertips, ready to strike whatever entity was about to breach the comet's fallen wake.
With Shido’s beasts howling at the sky, Ban tracking the trajectory, and Sakura raising her staff to cast a shield, the forest exploded into a symphony of power—a clash of magic, steel, and science under the watchful eye of the dying star.
