The Blue Rose of Symphonia: Endon’s Phantom Requiem
The canopy above the Whispering Woods was a tangled web of obsidian, blotting out the stars of 2026. In the center of a scorched clearing, four legends from disparate worlds stood back-to-back. The air didn’t just smell of pine and damp earth; it reeked of sulfur and the metallic tang of Phantoms.
The Vanguard of Light
Haru Glory tightened his grip on the Ten Powers. Beside him, Lief of Deltora adjusted the Belt of Deltora, the seven gems pulsing with a rhythmic, protective amber glow.
"They’re circling," Lief whispered, his eyes scanning the shifting shadows. "The Topaz is shivering. They aren’t just Phantoms."
"I know," Haru replied, the blade of the Ravelt shifting into its Explosion form. "Something bigger is calling them."
From the darkness emerged the Phantoms—translucent, jagged wraiths of hunger. But they weren't the primary threat. Above them, a massive Shadow Dragon, its scales polished like hematite, descended with a roar that shook the very marrow of their bones.
The Dance of Steel and Spirit
The battle erupted in a blur of motion:
Ranmaru Shindo was a whirlwind of silver. His Tokko blades hummed, slicing through the Phantoms with the precision of a surgeon and the rage of a survivor. Every time a Phantom dissolved into black mist, Ranmaru was already lunging at the next.
Sia moved like a ghost herself. Armed with her supernatural prowess, she didn't just fight the Phantoms; she dominated the space between them. She acted as the group’s anchor, her eyes tracking the Dragon’s flight path while her strikes kept the ground swarm at bay.
"Haru! Now!" Sia shouted, her voice cutting through the screeching of the undead.
The Aerial Assault
The Shadow Dragon lunged, its maw glowing with purple fire. Haru leaped, propelled by a blast from his sword. The physics of his jump were boosted by the Blue Crimson form—dual blades of fire and ice. He collided with the dragon's chest, carving a steaming cross into its hide.
Simultaneously, Lief raised his hands. The gems of Deltora flared in unison, emitting a blinding white light that acted as a physical barrier against the dragon’s breath. The Diamond’s purity pushed back the darkness, momentarily turning the "Dark Forest" into a cathedral of brilliance.
The Final Strike
The Dragon, wounded and blinded by the Belt’s light, plummeted toward the earth. Ranmaru saw his opening. He vaulted off a fallen cedar, his blades glowing with the intensity of his resolve.
"For the fallen," Ranmaru hissed, "and for those still breathing."
He delivered a cross-slash to the dragon's throat just as Haru descended with the Melforce sword, pinning the beast to the forest floor with a shockwave of vacuum energy.
As the Dragon dissipated into cinders, the Phantoms vanished with it, unable to maintain their form without their master. Silence returned to the woods, save for the heavy breathing of the four warriors.
"Nice teamwork," Haru said, sheathing his sword as the Ten Powers returned to its base form.
Lief looked at the gems on his belt, now glowing softly and steadily. "In our worlds, we fight alone too often. Tonight, the forest was dark, but the light was stronger."
Sia wiped a streak of essence from her cheek, her gaze already turning toward the horizon. "Don't get too comfortable. In a world like this, the sun is still a long way off."
