Knights of Elegance: The Behemoth of Dreams Past
The mist hung low in the clearing, clinging to the gnarled roots of ancient trees like memories that refused to fade.
"These are the woods of dreams past," Genji, the Lightning Emperor, murmured. His voice carried the weight of a man who had seen empires rise and fall.
He stood before a colossal, weather-worn monument. Beside him, Tenchi Masaki, Icky of the Kagerasmaru, and Akira of the Behemoth stood in silent contemplation.
"Somehow, that statue looks familiar," Tenchi said, squinting through the fog at the grand stone figure.
"That's the legendary warrior, Yosho," Genji replied, a faint, melancholic smile touching his lips. He gestured to a fractured, empty stone plinth just a few yards away, overrun by wild ivy. "It looks like there used to be a second statue over there."
"I wonder who that other statue was," Tenchi mused, stepping closer to the ruined base.
Genji’s eyes darkened with a mixture of reverence and regret. "It was a man with the most amazing potential. A descendant of the royal family, and a great swordsman." He paused, the wind whistling through the branches. "It's the Fresh Blood Joker. A member of the Volts from the past."
The mention of the Volts hung heavy in the damp air. The past wasn't dead; it was actively tearing the present apart. Even now, miles away in the heart of the shifting ruins, a brutal civil war was raging. Kazaki was currently locked in a deadly clash against another former Volts member—the brilliant, ruthless, second-in-command of Kazaki’s own gang, Elegance.
But their immediate concern was closer to home.
Genji turned his sharp gaze toward the massive, imposing figure of Akira. "Beast Master Shido is coming for the King of Beasts. Akira, from Behemoth... you have changed."
Akira didn't flinch. He looked down at his calloused hands, feeling the primal energy that still thrummed beneath his skin, though it tempered by years of harsh reality.
"Animals die out if they don't change," Akira said, his voice a low, gravelly rumble. "But while his fangs have gotten stronger... mine have dulled."
"Don't count yourself out just yet," Icky, the sharp-eyed leader of Kagerasmaru, interjected. He leaned against a nearby trunk, his arms crossed, though his posture masked a deep anxiety. He wasn't looking at Akira. He was looking toward the horizon, where the fabric of reality itself seemed to warp and ripple.
"But I'm worried about the one who has to battle the man who controls time," Icky added, his voice dropping to a tense whisper.
The woods of dreams past offered no answers, only the echoes of old legends and the grim certainty of the battles to come.
