Royal Knights: Wheel of Light – Fall of the Master of Masters

The air in the Chamber of the In-Between was heavy, thick with the scent of ozone and fading embers.
Takuya Kanbara stood at the center of the platform, his fists clenched so tightly his knuckles turned white. The D-Tector in his pocket thrummed with a frantic, dying heat. He looked across the expanse at the impossible council assembled before him: Xemnas, the enigmatic leader of Nobodies; Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha, shinobi of unparalleled myth; and Tenchi Masaki, a man harboring powers that could shatter dimensions.
"You need to come to your senses!" Takuya’s voice echoed against the white walls, raw and desperate. "If we don't do something, light will expire. Then we won't be able to avoid the grim future that awaits! We need to defy the Master to save the world!"
Xemnas merely adjusted his coat, his golden eyes unblinking, while Naruto and Sasuke exchanged a tense, calculating glance. Tenchi looked down, the weight of the universe visibly pressing on his shoulders.
"I won't let the prophecy come true," Takuya fiercely declared, stepping forward, his eyes burning with the spirit of flame. "I won't let the world fall into darkness!"
But as Takuya poured his soul into rallying the powerful figures before him, a quiet, terrifying shift was happening just a few paces behind him.
The Fading Light
Unnoticed by the feuding warriors, Koji Minamoto was sinking into the shadows.
The chaotic energies of the converging realms had taken a toll, but it wasn't pain that Koji was feeling. It was an eerie, overwhelming peace. He staggered back a step, his boots making no sound on the floor.
A wheel of light is beginning to turn...
In Koji’s vision, the stark white architecture of the chamber was melting away. In its place, a massive, iridescent halo of fractured, golden light began to rotate slowly in the air above him. It didn't look like an attack, nor did it feel like the oppressive energy of the Master.
It looks so warm, Koji thought, his breathing slowing down. It feels just like a dream.
The fierce shouting of Takuya’s argument began to muffle, sounding as though it were underwater. Naruto was saying something about never giving up on a bond; Sasuke was countering with a cold, analytical strategy; Xemnas muttered of hearts and voids.
None of it mattered anymore. The warmth of the spinning wheel was pulling at Koji’s very essence. The Spirit of Light inside him wasn't fighting it—it was answering it, dissolving into the glow.
The Divide
"Koji, back me up here!" Takuya yelled, finally turning around to look for his partner. "Tell them what we saw at the edge of the Digital World! Tell them—"
Takuya’s voice caught in his throat.
Koji was beginning to drift away from the others. Literally. His feet were no longer touching the ground, and his form was becoming translucent, bathed in the radiant, dreamlike halo that none of the others could see. His eyes, usually sharp and guarded, were wide, vacant, and filled with a serene, terrifying calm.
"Koji!" Takuya lunged forward, reaching out a hand to grab his friend's jacket.
But his hand passed right through empty, warm air. The wheel of light spun faster, and with a soft, silent sigh, Koji Minamoto vanished into the glow, leaving the defenders of light one soldier short before the war had even begun.
