The Sank Kingdom Chronicles: The Whispering Tower of Gilgamesh
The dimensional rift didn’t open with a bang, but with the distinct, irritating sound of a sputtering carburetor.
When the smoke cleared in the courtyard of the Masaki shrine, five people from entirely different realities were staring at each other.
Tenchi Masaki sighed, dropping his broom. He had a feeling his chores were going to be delayed. Again.
The Meet-and-Greet
"Alright, who blew the engine?" Itsuki "Ikki" Minami asked, balancing precariously on his Air Treks as he coasted backward. He adjusted his jacket, looking around the peaceful Okayama hills. "Because this doesn't look like the Tropaeum."
"It is not," Heero Yuy replied coldly. He was already on his feet, checking his vest for sidearms. Finding none, his hand drifted to his belt. "And if you are an enemy combatant, I will destroy you."
"Whoa, chill out, spandex," Jill muttered, leaning heavily on his shield. He looked utterly exhausted, fresh from climbing a tower that defied logic. "Look, if there are no monsters here, I’m taking a nap."
"Peace, young warriors," a booming, yet smooth voice echoed. Genji, the Lightning Emperor, stepped forward, his eyes crackling with residual electricity. "We have been drawn together by a convergence of ley lines—or perhaps something more celestial. I can feel the ambient energy of this world. It is... remarkably calm."
Tenchi rubbed the back of his neck, walking over to the bizarre assembly. "Uh, hi. Welcome to my house? If you guys are hungry, my grandfather usually has some stew going..."
Suddenly, the sky darkened.
The Threat Arises
The peaceful atmosphere evaporated as a massive, mechanical tear opened above the shrine. Out poured a swarm of robotic drones—a hybrid of Druaga’s monstrous constructs and rogue mobile suits. Leading them was a towering, corrupted biomechanical beast, crackling with dark energy.
"Target confirmed," Heero said, his voice dropping an octave. He didn't have the Wing Zero, but his eyes locked onto a strange, sleek machine parked in Tenchi's garage—a modified Masaki starship. "I'm commandeering that vehicle."
"Hey! Don't touch Washu's stuff!" Tenchi yelled, but he didn't have time to stop him. The drones were descending.
"Looks like we're doing this!" Ikki grinned, dropping his goggles over his eyes. "Time to show these rust-buckets how the Crow Clan flies!"
The Battle for the Shrine
The courtyard became a symphony of absolute chaos.
Ikki took off like a rocket, utilizing the shrine’s roofs, torii gates, and even the descending drones as launchpads. He became a blur of wind and polyurethane wheels, executing a flawless Moonstruck Numberless Grappler that shattered three drones into scrap metal.
"Not bad, wind-rider!" Genji shouted. The Lightning Emperor raised his hands to the heavens. "Thunderbolt!" A massive pillar of pure, blinding electricity cascaded from the sky, frying a dozen constructs instantly. The raw power caused Ikki’s Air Treks to spark, forcing the Storm King to steer clear of Genji's massive AOE.
On the ground, a massive armored beast lunged at Tenchi. Jill threw himself forward, planting his shield into the dirt. "Deflection!" he roared. The impact rattled his bones, but the shield held, redirecting the beast's kinetic energy and sending it stumbling backward.
"Now, Tenchi!" Jill yelled.
Tenchi closed his eyes for a split second. When they snapped open, a brilliant, glowing blade of light extended from his hands—the Light Hawk Wing sword. With a swift, fluid motion, Tenchi dashed forward and cleanly bifurcated the beast.
"Incredible power," Genji remarked, genuinely impressed by the boy in the hakama.
High above them, the sky erupted. Heero Yuy had successfully hotwired Washu's experimental craft. Channeling his inner Epyon/Wing Zero tactical mainframe, he bypassed the ship's safety protocols.
"Eliminating targets," Heero muttered.
The ship’s underbelly opened, firing a barrage of concentrated energy beams that systematically picked off the remaining airborne drones with terrifying, mathematical precision. Heero didn't smile; he just adjusted the thrusters and swept the battlefield clean.
Aftermath and Appetizers
Ten minutes later, the courtyard was quiet again, save for the crackle of burning circuitry and the hum of Ikki’s cooling skates. The rift above them snapped shut, its energy depleted by the combined counter-attack.
Heero landed the starship perfectly, stepping out without a scratch. "Area secured. Threat eliminated."
"Man, you guys are freaks," Jill sighed, collapsing onto the porch steps and letting his armor dissolve. "But... good fight."
"Freaks? We're legends!" Ikki laughed, skating up to Genji. "Hey, old man, you think you could charge my batteries without blowing my boots up next time?"
Genji chuckled, his lightning fading into a warm glow. "Perhaps, young king. If your spirit can handle the voltage."
