In a clearing deep within the forests of Del, four souls from four different realities found themselves staring at a shimmering tear in the fabric of space.
The Unlikely Assembly
Yusuke Urameshi was the first to speak, dusting off his green school jacket. "Great. Another day, another spirit-world headache. Koenma’s gonna hear about this."
Kurama stood a few feet away, his calm demeanor unshaken. He knelt to examine a flower that didn't belong to any genus he knew. "I don't think this is the Spirit World, Yusuke. The energy here is... ancient. It feels like the earth itself is breathing."
"It is," a voice rang out. Leif, the King of Deltora, stepped from the shadows of the Great Trees, his hand resting on the hilt of the Belt of Deltora. The gems set into the steel glowed with a soft, pulsing light. "You are in my kingdom, though how you bypassed the border guards—or the magic of the gems—is a mystery."
Before Yusuke could offer a snappy comeback, a sudden chill hit the air. A woman in a long black coat, her eyes hidden behind dark glasses, stepped into the light. Robin Sena didn't reach for a weapon; she simply watched the others, her hands deep in her pockets.
"The craft here is dense," Robin said quietly. "But you aren't Witches. At least, not the kind I hunt."
The Common Enemy
The truce was brief, interrupted by a screech that tore through the canopy. From the rift emerged a Vermin-Wraith, a twisted amalgamation of shadow and rot, sent by the Shadow Lord to reclaim the territory.
"Standard procedure?" Yusuke asked, his finger already glowing with blue spirit energy.
"Tactical efficiency," Kurama replied, a rose appearing in his hand.
The Skirmish
The battle was a masterclass in cross-dimensional synergy:
The Vanguard: Leif drew the Sword of Deltora. The Topaz on his belt flared, clearing the unnatural fog and revealing the Wraith’s true form. He moved with the grace of a king who had survived the Forests of Silence, parrying the creature's ethereal claws.

A massive blast of blue light tore through the clearing, vaporizing the Wraith and sealing the rift behind it in a vacuum of spirit pressure.

As the smoke cleared, the forest returned to its natural stillness.
Leif looked at the three strangers. "My people speak of legends from other lands, but I never imagined warriors such as you. You have done Deltora a service today."
"Don't sweat it," Yusuke said, sticking his hands in his pockets. "Just make sure the next guy who falls through here is friendlier than that shadow-freak."
Robin looked at Kurama, sensing the ancient, floral power within him. "You carry a heavy burden," she noted.
Kurama offered a faint, polite smile. "We all have our demons, Robin. Some of us just keep them on a shorter leash."
With a final flash from the Belt of Deltora—the Diamond shining brightest—the three visitors began to fade, pulled back to their respective worlds by the very magic that had summoned them. Leif stood alone in the clearing, the weight of his crown feeling just a bit lighter knowing that, even in other worlds, there were those willing to fight the dark.
